Responsibility
- examine drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with plumbing codes and regulations
- measure and cut required lengths of copper, lead, steel, iron, aluminum, or plastic pipes using hand or machine tools
- install various fittings such as storage tanks, cookers, baths, toilets, taps and valves, refrigerators, boilers, radiators, and fires
- test completed installations for leaks and make any necessary adjustments or repairs
- attach fittings and join piping using welding, soldering, cementing, fusing, screwing, or other approved methods
- repair burst pipes and mechanical and combustion faults, and replace faulty taps, washers, valves, and other components as needed
- collaborate with clients to understand their plumbing needs and provide expert advice on maintenance and upgrades
- maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked
Requirements
- proven experience as a plumber in a similar role
- solid knowledge of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment
- proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
- excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- strong communication and customer service abilities
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- valid plumbing license or certification
- valid driver's license and reliable transportation
