bookkeeper

Requirements

  • AAT Level 3 or 4 qualification is preferred
  • degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is desirable but not essential
  • experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
  • knowledge of UK financial regulations, VAT, and HMRC guidelines
  • to succeed in this role, you will need strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • previous experience in bookkeeping or finance-related roles
  • your ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, will be crucial. You must be able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing financial priorities as required
  • experience in bookkeeping, finance, or accounting within a business environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with UK financial regulations, VAT returns, and HMRC compliance will also be beneficial

Responsibility

  • maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable
  • you will be responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with reporting requirements
  • processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims, ensuring timely payments and accurate record keeping
  • managing bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly
  • development of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency
  • supporting budgeting and forecasting processes by preparing financial data and reports
  • preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
  • supporting payroll processing by maintaining accurate records of employee hours, expenses, and deductions
