Responsibility
to observe and feedback to the Care Co-ordinator any observed changes in the health, well-being and safety of the individual
to carry out support tasks as instructed and identified within an individual personal care plan, to achieve the individuals desired outcomes and prevent and delay deterioration in health, well-being and quality of life
to observe and feedback to the Care Co-ordinator any, and all observed changes in the service users support needs that is not being met by the individual personal care plan or assigned services being delivered
to participate and assist in the orientation and in-service training/mentoring for all new staff
to use any monitoring systems in place within the service users home that are required to be accurately completed at each care visit to provide clear and concise records of times, tasks and observations made during the care visit and ensure these are completed to the required standards
to be able to carry out all personal and practical support tasks associated with the care plan in a respectful and dignified way and in compliance with all training, risk assessments and instructions provided by Oban Community Carers Ltd
to attend/undertake all and any training and personal development currently required in the post and/or as identified during supervision
to be responsible for seeking further information or instructions required to carry out a task if it has not been previously given and not recorded in the care plan
Requirements
personal responsibility for applying and maintaining registration with the SSSC regulatory body
flexibility to work the range of shift patterns required for the service
ability to work and carry out instructions on own without the need for daily support and/or daily supervisory observation
SVQ2 qualification in Health & Social Care or agreement to undertake in post within five years to meet conditions of SSSC registration. SSSC registration should be achieved within six months of employment
ability to understand and accept the standards and values of Oban Community Carers Ltd and all other Industry Care Standards in Health & Social Care and be able to put these into practice on a daily basis to fulfil the role
to carry out support tasks for a range of older people within their own homes. Supporting individuality and independence to maintain quality of life to within the individuals own home
ability to understand and be able to demonstrate delivery of support services in a way which shows caring values, and which will preserve the dignity, privacy, choice, independence, fulfilment and human rights of the Service User and his/her carer/family members receiving services
