Responsibility
- autumn House Nursing Home
- organise and coordinate activities for active daily living
- organise an activities program that will maintain interest and progression over a period of time
- identify the needs of the collective group and individuals and tailor the activities to suit them
- encourage involvement from the local community to attend your activities
- you will need to be able to work well in a team and liaise with other staff, volunteers and residents
- the main aim is to improve the intellectual, physical and overall health of the people in your care
- activities need to be in conjunction within the rules of the company employing you and your environment eg. From the home manager, restrictions from the environment you are working in, leisure Centre rules etc
Requirements
- arts, crafts, etc this can assist in getting you the job
- previous experience in working with people in your chosen area eg
- the elderly, can also help improve your chances of getting that activities coordinator job
- more importantly for these jobs you will need to have excellent communication skills, be highly self-motivated and have a high level of self-confidence
