Responsibility
- the Kitchen Assistant/Commis Chef will work closely with the rest of the team to produce consistently outstanding food during service
- washing, chopping, shredding and grading ingredients for the chefs
- sweeping and mopping the floors and supporting the senior members of team
- whether you’re helping to create a traditional Sunday lunch, helping to present our popular afternoon tea or taking part in preparing for one of our themed events, as our Kitchen Assistant/Commis Chef you’ll be a part of a team that is delivering food that keeps our customers coming back for more
- some of your everyday tasks will include cleaning the dishes, workstations, cooking equipment and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- learning and development is a huge aspect of this role and you will be a vital member of this small, talented team
- cleaning and storing of all crockery and cutlery after use
- stock checking of food as soon as it is received and ensuring it is stored effectively

Requirements
- previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- ability to manage priorities
- excellent communication skills
- understanding of the COSHH policy is desirable
- experience of working in a customer service environment
- strong team working skills
- previous experience cooking for people with strict dietary requirements would be beneficial but not essential
