Responsibility
the Kitchen Assistant/Commis Chef will work closely with the rest of the team to produce consistently outstanding food during service
washing, chopping, shredding and grading ingredients for the chefs
sweeping and mopping the floors and supporting the senior members of team
whether you’re helping to create a traditional Sunday lunch, helping to present our popular afternoon tea or taking part in preparing for one of our themed events, as our Kitchen Assistant/Commis Chef you’ll be a part of a team that is delivering food that keeps our customers coming back for more
some of your everyday tasks will include cleaning the dishes, workstations, cooking equipment and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations
learning and development is a huge aspect of this role and you will be a vital member of this small, talented team
cleaning and storing of all crockery and cutlery after use
stock checking of food as soon as it is received and ensuring it is stored effectively
Requirements
previous experience in a similar role is preferred
ability to manage priorities
excellent communication skills
understanding of the COSHH policy is desirable
experience of working in a customer service environment
strong team working skills
previous experience cooking for people with strict dietary requirements would be beneficial but not essential
