catering manager
Responsibility
- manage all aspects of food preparation and service, including menu planning, food ordering, and staff supervision
- manage all catering budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and maintenance of agreed GP levels
- maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and safety
- source the best ingredients, prioritising the use of local suppliers in our menus
- monitor inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary
- work closely with customers to understand their dietary needs and preferences
- continually review and update the menus
- ensure all kitchen equipment is adequately maintained
Requirements
- A recognised professional qualification in food preparation/catering
- at least Intermediate or Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate holder
- ability to create menu items to a tight time scale, to a budget and to the highest standards
- strong leadership and organisational skills
- excellent communication skills and confident in liaising with guests from all backgrounds and cultures
- good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- access to their own transport
- at least 5 years’ experience in the practical preparation of high quality dishes for around 50 people at a sitting, using fresh, seasonal ingredients, from local suppliers
