shop manager
Responsibility
- facilitating the overall running of the charity shop and volunteers to assist you in this role
- reporting to: Chief Executive
- reports for Chief Executive
- to be aware of the responsibilities placed on employees under the Health and Safety at Work Act, to maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors
- managing and training staff and volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the shop and implement new ideas
- we are looking for someone to work the equivalent of 5 days a week
Requirements
- at least three years experience in shop and staff management within the retail industry
- previous experience in management within a charity retail shop environment
- experience of managing stock control/cash/barcode scanner system
- line management experience
- minimum 3 years, demonstrable track record of success in retail
- experience of working for a charity in the ‘social care’ sector
- excellent relationship building and communication skills – staff/volunteers/general public – phone and in person
- ability to work with colleagues to develop a safe, clean, well-presented and enjoyable retail experience
