Requirements
- A good degree in PE, or related discipline
- recognised teaching qualification
- experience of coaching sports teams to a good standard
- A passion for sport
- an ability to teach Dance across KS2 and KS3 and potentially to GCSE level
- inspirational teaching skills
- ability to teach a varied ability range
- knowledge of the requirements of GCSE specifications
Responsibility
- preparation and planning of lessons in accordance with departmental schemes of work
- carrying out assessment according to departmental and School policies
- recording assessment grades/reports etc within deadlines set and keeping clear records
- setting and marking of class work and homework according to relevant School and departmental policies
- carrying out risk assessments of activities and practical lessons and acting on those assessments appropriately
- setting and marking/moderating examination coursework where appropriate
- demonstrating a range of teaching methods and keeping abreast of developments in the subject area; employing a range of teaching resources including the display of pupils’ work
- establishing a structured learning environment conducive to learning and where pupils know that high standards are always required
