ensure R&D projects are managed appropriately, including goal-setting, progress tracking, budgeting, identifying risks and providing suitable risk mitigation strategies
taking responsibility for product life cycle management, including identification of areas for both incremental and transformational product enhancements
technical oversight, mentoring guidance and training
responsible for key relationship development with all stakeholders
provide line management to product development/engineering teams
ensure departmental activities align with overarching organisation level strategies

work with manufacturing development partner to deliver a high-throughput prototype cartridge
devise & implement suitable assay development strategy including hydrogel development as required for bespoke ‘RUO’ application areas
design and help integrate the cartridge with suitable electronics to enable electrochemical interrogation
optimise electrochemical interrogation processes
modify or develop automated measurement routines to allow high-throughput measurement of antibiotic susceptibility across an array of sensors
create methods for transferring the recorded data into relevant data acquisition software
create reports and presentations to update colleagues and wider stakeholders on progress
aid commercial team with identification of opportunities and commercialisation of RUO setup
