Responsibility
- responsible for the supervision of the fabrication, operations and staff in accordance with company quality and production schedule requirements
- read and work to technical fabrication drawings and specifications
- conducting visual quality inspections of welded components against quality requirements and specifications
- achieving fabrication timescales and production rates
- working with minimal supervision, displaying a strong pride in one’s work and good eye to detail
- maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment and tools, working to Company Quality, Safety and Environmental System requirements
- adhering to all Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work
- ad-hoc duties to assist the Ops Manager and Ops Director with the smooth running of the factory as required
Requirements
- at least 5 year’s experience in a fabrication factory-based supervisory, foreman or team leader role is essential
- A proven track record in supervising, motivating and coaching a team, in order to achieve production schedules
- the character, personality and experience to hold the respect of a hard working workshop team
- proven structural & architectural steel welding and fabrication experience, ideally starting at Apprentice level
- excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently and professionally communicate obstacles in order for the Teams to overcome them
- A relevant welding and fabrication qualification is desirable, but not essential e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ
- A Forklift Operator License would be advantageous, but not essential
- A confident self-starter with the ability to prioritise and proactively manage their own and the Teams workload, in order to achieve production schedules
