Responsibility
responsible for the supervision of the fabrication, operations and staff in accordance with company quality and production schedule requirements
read and work to technical fabrication drawings and specifications
conducting visual quality inspections of welded components against quality requirements and specifications
achieving fabrication timescales and production rates
working with minimal supervision, displaying a strong pride in one’s work and good eye to detail
maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment and tools, working to Company Quality, Safety and Environmental System requirements
adhering to all Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work
ad-hoc duties to assist the Ops Manager and Ops Director with the smooth running of the factory as required
Requirements
at least 5 year’s experience in a fabrication factory-based supervisory, foreman or team leader role is essential
A proven track record in supervising, motivating and coaching a team, in order to achieve production schedules
the character, personality and experience to hold the respect of a hard working workshop team
proven structural & architectural steel welding and fabrication experience, ideally starting at Apprentice level
excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently and professionally communicate obstacles in order for the Teams to overcome them
A relevant welding and fabrication qualification is desirable, but not essential e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ
A Forklift Operator License would be advantageous, but not essential
A confident self-starter with the ability to prioritise and proactively manage their own and the Teams workload, in order to achieve production schedules
