Responsibility

  • main duties of the job Medicine management of acute and repeat requests and advice for patients and allied staff
  • reconciliation of discharge medication and outpatient letter requests
  • structured medication reviews via telephone and in person
  • up to date clinical knowledge and understanding of EMIS and prescribing
  • running own long term condition clinics where appropriate, and where medications need adjusting/deprescribing as required
  • managing patients with common, minor or self-limiting conditions - Minor Illness and previous GP experience desirable
  • independent prescriber status Work with local medicine management team to carry out audits and medication switches Having involvement in ongoing training and education of allied staff and GP trainees
