- effective management and planning of drivers and office staff
- controlling and planning an agreed amount of resource
- ensuring all legal requirements are adhered to
- we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Transport Operations planner based in our Nelson office, working alongside our existing planners with responsibilities for our General Haulage fleet working throughout the UK
- to ensure the daily plan is formed then, completed managing resources effectively, maximising utilisation whilst minimising cost
- make use of planning tools and systems to manage workload and monitor efficiency
- understanding and achieving key performance targets relating to the safety and efficiency of their fleet
- communicate effectively and deliver excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
Requirements
- support management of the shift plan, ensuring all necessary resources are available to meet the daily requirement
- fully embrace being part of a wider team, always happy to help with a positive can-do attitude
- prepare reports and keep all systems up to date
- contact drivers to understand delays, manage any ad-hoc issues and escalate where appropriate
- accurate completion of documentation to meet depot process and legislative requirements and the managing of these documents on dispatch and return
- excellent organisational skills
- you will understand the legal demands of working within the driving sector
- experience of General Haulage & Pallet Network would be an advantage
