Responsibility
- manage and supervise all aspects of the flower farm operations
- plan and implement planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting schedules
- ensure the proper care and health of all plants on the farm
- operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- ensure all health and safety and compliance requirements are adhered to including the use of personal protective equipment and safe working practices
- develop and implement a detailed garden maintenance plan that includes weeding, pruning, planting, pest control, fertilizing, and watering to ensure that the farm is always in excellent condition
- manage the planting, propagation, cultivation and cutting of all plants, shrubs, trees and flowers in the garden and greenhouse, ensuring that they are healthy and thriving
Requirements
- proficiency in flower farming and horticulture
- mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining farm equipment
- ability to work with hand tools and power tools
- knowledge of irrigation systems for crops
- basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- experience in gardening or crop management
- capability for heavy lifting as required on the farm
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas
