Education
BEng Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Other relevant subject areas considered
Responsibility
producing electrical/electronic designs that are robust, cost effective to produce and use materials and/or resources effectively
producing technically compliant embedded software/firmware solutions which entirely satisfy the design brief and are robust, thoroughly documented, well-structured and bug/defect free
ensure all electrical/electronic designs are fully compliant with In-House Electrical/Electronic Design and Software Design Standards
liaising closely with mechanical & software design colleagues to ensure the final product design optimally integrates all design disciplines
actively supporting peer review of colleagues designs and provide constructive feedback
developing verification methods to validate all elements of designs
producing technically compliant electrical/electronic design solutions which entirely satisfy the design brief and are fully compliant with commercial goals in terms of estimated design time, costs and timescales
actively engaging with Pre-Production & Production to support assembly of first-offs, prototypes etc
Requirements
proven ‘End to End’ experience of the New Product Development cycle
accuracy
strong debugging and problem-solving skills
attention to detail
able to review and write clear product design documents which describe the complete product in detail
prioritising and Organisational Skills
experience in the design of products for CE and global certification
excellent verbal and written communication skills
