  • interpret technical drawings and plans accurately to create visually stunning and structurally sound structures
  • utilise a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment proficiently to fabricate and assemble scenic elements
  • ensure meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail in all projects whilst adhering to project deadlines
  • coordinate effectively with production managers and event organisers to seamlessly integrate scenic elements into event spaces
  • maintain and repair existing scenic elements to ensure they are in optimal condition for future use
  • adhere strictly to safety guidelines and best practices to create a safe working environment
  • collaborate with the creative team at Luminaire Events to design and build scenic elements for various events, including stages, sets, props, and installations

Requirements

  • proven experience as a scenic carpenter, preferably within the events industry
  • proficient in various carpentry techniques, including cutting, shaping, and assembling different materials
  • excellent knowledge of carpentry tools and equipment, demonstrating the ability to use them effectively and safely
  • strong ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and creative briefs accurately
  • meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship
  • strong organisational and time management skills to meet project deadlines
  • excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a creative team
  • flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends, as required by event schedules

Responsibility

  • this project handling will be practical, administratively and commercially
  • provide and coordinate out-of-hours support and advice to active projects and clients across the teams managed
  • prepare all paperwork and keep job files for each project updated and available for input from other team members
  • act as Project Manager in all areas of delivering a project, including quoting, calculating technical specifications, equipment, crew schedules, power specification, transport requirements, etc
  • prepare project invoices and close job file upon completion of each project
  • produce quotations, proposal documents and budgets for a full range of projects and live events, either alongside our business development function or direct with clients
  • manage any project changes and customer confirmations, collating and reporting all charges to be invoiced
  • negotiate and secure orders for quoted services to drive maximum value for money for clients, combined with profitable and efficient supply by the company
