Responsibility

  • supervise and manage the day-to-day production operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols
  • plan, organise, and prioritise production activities, allocating resources effectively to meet production targets and customer requirements
  • lead and motivate production teams, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and a positive work environment
  • monitor and evaluate production processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
  • monitor inventory levels, coordinating with the materials management team to ensure adequate stock availability for production requirements
  • implement and enforce safety protocols and practices, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance among production staff
  • track and report production metrics, analysing data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern
  • collaborate closely with the production planning team, ensuring accurate and timely communication of production requirements, materials availability, and any potential bottlenecks or issues

Requirements

  • proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in precision engineering or a similar industry
  • strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality control practices
  • excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams to achieve operational goals
  • proficiency in using manufacturing software, such as ERP systems, to track and manage production activities
  • strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on driving efficiency and process optimization
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and levels of the organization
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
