Responsibility

  • overseeing the accounts and tax returns department and ensuring that all work is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • preparing and submitting financial statements
  • managing and mentoring a team of junior accountants and bookkeepers
  • building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing them with support and advice on financial matters
  • staying up-to-date with current tax laws and regulations and ensuring that clients are compliant
  • identifying opportunities for business growth and development, and working with the team to implement new processes and procedures as needed

Requirements

  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA
  • or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within an accountancy practice
  • strong knowledge of accounting software and financial systems, including IRIS, Xero, Sage and Quickbooks
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • strong leadership skills and experience managing and mentoring a team
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to think outside the box
