vehicle technician
Working hours
- full-time | Permanent
Responsibility
- preferably a valid HGV driving licence sufficient to test all relevant vehicles
- ensure that Safe Working practices are adhered to and that Heath and Safety of all staff is paramount
- promote the good name and reputation of the company at all times
- carry out all reasonable requests from management to satisfy the company’s peak periods and ensuring customers requirements are met
- ensure that all repairs are carried out effectively and economically as possible in accordance to VOSA, RTA laws, company standards, and conform to all legislation
- be flexible and prepared, by joint agreement, to be available to cover weekend stand-by duty covering out of hour’s breakdowns and bank holiday cover
Requirements
- mechanical Engineering qualifications to C&G or NVQ standard as a minimum is essential
- excellent rate of pay
- familiarity of the V.O.S.A requirements would be desirable
- permanent role with a well established workshop, Authorized IVECO and Fiat dealer
- nominated DVSA vehicle examiner would be desirable but not essential as training would be available on completion of a probationary period
- opportunity for advanced training covering the Iveco, Fiat and IRTEC qualifications
- A full UK driving licence is essential and an HGV class one licence is advantageous
- previous experience as HGV fitter and service provider is essential, the ideal candidate will possess excellent diagnostic skills and be a good communicator as there is emphasis on team working
