Responsibility

  • assist with drafting documents, client liaison, research work, general correspondence, assist with procedures relating to costs collections and administrative support
  • sort and review medical and financial records, liaise with medical professionals, financial institutions and other solicitors
  • in the absence of supervising fee-earner, ensure that urgent matters are referred to appropriate personnel
  • to try and keep up-to-date by attending in-house seminars, through research, reading and attending courses if appropriate
  • ensure cheques are requisitioned/ paid in as instructed. To ensure monetary transactions are dealt with efficiently and in accordance with office procedures
  • attend court on applications, trials etc. when requested to do so
  • thorough and accurate note taking at meetings and preparation of file notes

Requirements

  • A degree or post-graduate qualification in information and library management. The role would suit someone with a recent library qualification
  • relevant experience of working in a legal sector within a partnership environment
  • highly developed organisational skills and a process driven approach to tasks are essential in this role
  • strong research skills and experience with databases such as LexisNexis, WestLaw etc, but training will be provided where necessary
  • proven ability in demonstrating patience, resilience and flexibility whilst managing daily tasks and stakeholder relationships
  • proven ability to communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely, in writing and verbally. The role will require stakeholder facing responsibility, training and occasional presentations
  • A strong level of IT proficiency, and in particular the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes. Experience in working with MS Office , and HTML

  • professional qualification – Qualified or newly qualified ACCA or CIMA is preferred
