Responsibility
- encourage our young people with their problem solving and independent living skills
- encourage and support the development of our young people’s personal skills through hobbies and interests
- teaching life skills such as shopping, cooking, using public transport and household budgeting
- observe and monitor physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes or concerns by the appropriate recording channels
- participating in regular training sessions, courses, and other learning activities and performance development, as required
- to assist our young people to participate in social and recreational activities with their peers either onsite or within the wider community
- being aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to Adult safeguarding and child protection, health & safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, and staff code of conduct, and reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
Requirements
- good numeracy and literacy skills
- capacity to work constructively as part of a team
- ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
- ability to relate and interact well with young people who have a range of communication needs
- excellent interpersonal skills
- ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
- experience of working in a similar role is desirable but not essential
