Reviews LAURA HAIG AESTHETICS
What are the appropriate channels Laura? It is not clear from your facebook page! You have no website or email address! What is your actual official policy is it only you that knows where it is!
I was never once rude or abusive as I never got the chance as all forms if communication were blocked as soon as I expressed that I wasn’t happy with you not refunding my £500!
Other people made comments about the service they had received they sent me DMs I never said anything until you blocked me. You had my money for 6 days and legally there is a 14 day cooling off period for all non in - person bookings. As I explained at the time I had not long had major surgery and was vulnerable and a professional would had advised correctly and allowed a person to take time to make their decision.
You threaten and block everyone who dares to complain about you or your service but had I known you had no medical back ground I would never have paid the deposit I did ask but at no time did you send me this information or your insurance which as standard should be shared if the person has nothing to hide.
You work with customers and you should follow a professional practice. It is unreasonable to offer no cancellation, no change of treatment and no refund of £500! Different if its withing 24/48 hours of the booking and the space cannot be filled!
Everyone knows that successful business work alongside there customers and have excellent clear transparent policies and qualifications available to customers.
The call was made on a phone not once did you meet me or see my face except for 1 random photo I sent.
What an incredible lady! Incredibly professional through and through! I had fractional co2 done on my whole face and I honestly look 20 years younger! My pics are on her social pages. So attentive, caring and highly ethical! Her clinic in Cambuslang is immaculate and I've recommended several friends & family all delighted with their results. Thank you Laura-a true professional. You're an angel. Cathy XX
I had a query about a small area of my face for a treatment and I contacted Laura Haig I am completely new to the aesthetics industry and have had no treatments or procedures on my skin ever!
I sent 1 photo of my face and then a 53 minute phone call was arranged with Laura over messenger she never put the camera on or met me in person. Nor did i complete any medical forms or questionnaire. I did ask about her qualifications and she wrote and told me she had 10 years experience and had trained at Harley Steeet clinic.
She was very friendly and persuasive and before I knew it I had paid a deposit of £500 for full face CO2 laser treatment. This was naive of me but I am quite vulnerable just now and have been quite ill.
I wrote to her 6 days later to say my husband wasn’t happy and that I had only just recovered from surgery and that I had changed my mind. She wrote sending me condolences for my Dad but my Dad is still alive and was never once mentioned in my message. Very strange!
She refused a refund and said I could still get the treatment. I then dug a little deeper and found some other people who had used her and they said she wasn’t qualified and another who wrote her eye procedure was horrendous that she had received. I do not want to get a full face procedure done by this person it is too risky.
I have been blocked by Laura and have asked for my money back but nothing! This is daylight robbery.
She will no doubt respond justifying her behaviour but I feel uncomfortable with the fact there is no email address, you have to attend at an industrial unit in Cambuslang and she doesn’t actually consult in person with you prior to booking and there is no proof of her having any qualifications.
I just want my money back but she wants to keep it for doing nothing! Different if it was short notice or I had left her in the lurch but its well over 2 weeks notice and I cancelled 6 days after the phone call as had found out more about her and the treatment itself which she had down played as not painful.
If only she could see that its actually better to run a responsible service and not force people into having big cosmetic procedures when she should be guiding them on what is best for them at the time and not just to get money out of people.
I am not normally one to complain but I was having a bad day and my skin was upsetting me I feel like Laura knew that and persuaded me to pay the deposit promising better skin.
Hi Sam,
We are sorry to read your comments, however we strongly refute the allegations made and do not recognise your interpretation of events.
Prior to any booking, you participated in a detailed, complimentary consultation during which your concerns, medical history, suitability for treatment, risks, and expected outcomes were discussed. This process ensures all clients are fully informed and able to make a voluntary, considered decision regarding treatment.
A booking fee is only taken once a client confirms they wish to proceed and secures an appointment. This is clearly explained at the time of booking, along with our cancellation terms, which confirm that booking fees are non-refundable due to the allocation of clinical time, this was also followed up in writing to you. Following your cancellation, and despite this falling outside of our terms, your booking fee was held on your client account as credit, as previously explained to you.
At no point are clients coerced or pressured into proceeding with treatment. All decisions are made freely following consultation.
We do not accept abusive or threatening communication towards staff. In this instance, contact was paused in line with our communication policy.
We strongly refute any suggestion regarding practitioner qualifications. All credentials are held on file and are available for verification upon reasonable request.
The claims regarding consultation standards, location, or service delivery are misleading and do not reflect our clinical process or professional standards.
If you wish to raise a formal complaint, you may do so via the appropriate channels and it will be reviewed accordingly.
Kind regards,
Laura Haig Aesthetics
There is still a LAR CONTRACTS nearby. Do you earn more there than at LAURA HAIG AESTHETICS?
This is not something I usually do, however, by doing so I hope that it prevents someone else from making the same mistake I did.
It is so easy to get caught up in the glamour of social media and the feeling that you want to achieve the same results. This is what happened to me when I looked at all the positive results Laura Haig achieves through her aesthetic procedures (or should this read what her social media want people to think could be achieved)?
I decided to enquire about her threads procedure which on the face of it (pardon the pun), looked effective, before I knew it I had signed up and paid my deposit. With hindsight this was maybe naive as no physical consultation was offered, everything was discussed via messenger.
At this point, full trust was in my place and I turned up for my appointment at the end of January 24. I signed the health questionnaire, I point this out because I did not sign anything which said the procedure may fail, Laura did talk about the procedure, I did share that I had spent so much money over the years which promised me a wrinkle free skin, and how despondent I was about my face and my lack of confidence in my ageing process. Laura assured me I would see amazing difference in my skin.
Laura took before and after pictures (attached to this review). At the time it didn't register with me that the before pictures were taken without additional lighting etc but immediately after the procedure was completed, after pictures were enhanced with a ring light. Both pictures were used to celebrate her success (not my success) on social media. If you look at my pictures you can see the ring light in my eyes V the before picture. Also in my own opinion the pictures have been edited.
Bearing in mind that Laura celebrated her results within an hour of my procedure, my first concerns were raised with her 4 weeks later when I highlighted to Laura that no change was evident, at which point she told me it would take up to 12 weeks for results to take effect. Giving her the benefit of the doubt I waited until the week before the 12th before officially escalating my concerns. Even with Laura claiming instant success and using my pictures during promotions etc she still claimed that I would need to wait 12 weeks before she took me seriously.
I asked Laura on multiple occasions what her official complaints process was and timelines but each time she refused to provide any answers. Laura did offer me another appointment to review my concerns but this was 6 weeks after the 12 week window (or possibly sooner if I was prepared to travel to Lanarkshire at my own expense).
I informed Laura I was seeking advice from professional bodies within the industry. At this point Laura began to use language such as slander and libel to scare me off. I tried to put forward a fair offer to resolve the issue but at this point she cut all communication and has blocked me from her social media platforms, this now means I have no way of persuing my complaint fairly and professionally (you will note from a previous review that Laura states they do not block their clients!)
As I started my review I have naively been miss-sold a treatment and if I can save at least one other from making the same mistake then I feel some good has come from my awful experience. Please stay clear of Laura Haig Aesthetics as clearly profits and social media likes, overrule empathy or care towards clients needs and requirements, particularly when all her reviews are controlled through her ability to block unwanted clients.
Please keep yourselves safe and do your research thoroughly.
Thank you This has been very helpful to me.
Hi Audrey,
Your recent review is both inaccurate and highly misleading. You were never denied a review — in fact, you were offered a follow-up in line with our aftercare policy, which clearly advises that results can take up to 12 weeks to fully develop. Bringing clients in too early is not clinically beneficial and can lead to unrealistic expectations.
As you're aware, I only run clinics in Edinburgh once a month, something that was clearly communicated at the time of booking. While we understand that waiting can be frustrating, your demand that I cancel pre-existing clinics and attend Edinburgh solely for you — despite there being no medical urgency — was not reasonable. We offered a review at the next available date, which you declined.
The reason communication was ceased is because you threatened legal action. Once a client enters into legal territory, it’s standard practice to pause dialogue to allow appropriate formal processes to take place. Blocking is never our default approach, and only occurs in cases where abusive or threatening behaviour is exhibited — as it was in this instance.
To now suggest publicly that we silence clients or refuse aftercare is defamatory. We maintain all client correspondence and will defend the integrity of our service where necessary.
