This is not something I usually do, however, by doing so I hope that it prevents someone else from making the same mistake I did.
It is so easy to get caught up in the glamour of social media and the feeling that you want to achieve the same results. This is what happened to me when I looked at all the positive results Laura Haig achieves through her aesthetic procedures (or should this read what her social media want people to think could be achieved)?
I decided to enquire about her threads procedure which on the face of it (pardon the pun), looked effective, before I knew it I had signed up and paid my deposit. With hindsight this was maybe naive as no physical consultation was offered, everything was discussed via messenger.
At this point, full trust was in my place and I turned up for my appointment at the end of January 24. I signed the health questionnaire, I point this out because I did not sign anything which said the procedure may fail, Laura did talk about the procedure, I did share that I had spent so much money over the years which promised me a wrinkle free skin, and how despondent I was about my face and my lack of confidence in my ageing process. Laura assured me I would see amazing difference in my skin.
Laura took before and after pictures (attached to this review). At the time it didn't register with me that the before pictures were taken without additional lighting etc but immediately after the procedure was completed, after pictures were enhanced with a ring light. Both pictures were used to celebrate her success (not my success) on social media. If you look at my pictures you can see the ring light in my eyes V the before picture. Also in my own opinion the pictures have been edited.
Bearing in mind that Laura celebrated her results within an hour of my procedure, my first concerns were raised with her 4 weeks later when I highlighted to Laura that no change was evident, at which point she told me it would take up to 12 weeks for results to take effect. Giving her the benefit of the doubt I waited until the week before the 12th before officially escalating my concerns. Even with Laura claiming instant success and using my pictures during promotions etc she still claimed that I would need to wait 12 weeks before she took me seriously.
I asked Laura on multiple occasions what her official complaints process was and timelines but each time she refused to provide any answers. Laura did offer me another appointment to review my concerns but this was 6 weeks after the 12 week window (or possibly sooner if I was prepared to travel to Lanarkshire at my own expense).
I informed Laura I was seeking advice from professional bodies within the industry. At this point Laura began to use language such as slander and libel to scare me off. I tried to put forward a fair offer to resolve the issue but at this point she cut all communication and has blocked me from her social media platforms, this now means I have no way of persuing my complaint fairly and professionally (you will note from a previous review that Laura states they do not block their clients!)
As I started my review I have naively been miss-sold a treatment and if I can save at least one other from making the same mistake then I feel some good has come from my awful experience. Please stay clear of Laura Haig Aesthetics as clearly profits and social media likes, overrule empathy or care towards clients needs and requirements, particularly when all her reviews are controlled through her ability to block unwanted clients.
Please keep yourselves safe and do your research thoroughly.
