• the Social Care Programming Coordinator will support the delivery of a comprehensive programme of events, informal education and activities for our Members in the wider community
• the Social Care Programming Coordinator will work with the Head of Programming, Members, volunteers, sessional facilitators, and key stakeholders to develop a creative programme of educational, cultural and social activities for young Jewish adults with learning disabilities and autism
• operational Tasks
• to support volunteers and external delivery partners at sessions/activities
• the programme developed by the Community Activity Coordinator will play a significant role in energising members to be active participants in the community by organising activities, events and planning future holidays with individuals and groups
• to contribute to effective teamwork between staff and volunteers, including attending team meetings, training sessions, and supervision
• to organise and/or participate in key Langdon events held throughout the year such as the charity fun runs, Langdon bike ride & Jewish Festival events and parties
• to undertake any other tasks deemed relevant to the job purpose as directed by and agreed with the Line Manager
• to support Langdon’s self-advocacy group “One Voice”

• to work in collaboration with the Service Manager to ensure Support Plans and Risk assessments are relevant and up to date
• to ensure that all members are aware of all social, recreational and community opportunities and events and facilitating any necessary access
• lead a team of support workers to promote and maintain a person-centred service provision
• the role is also responsible for supporting a team of support workers to enable our members to live as independently as possible

• work with members and their families, supporting them in the decisions they make about how they live their lives and ensuring that personal needs are met
• monitor standards of care throughout the designated place of work and ensure standards are maintained throughout the staff team

Responsibility

• to assess individuals in accordance with the Care Act 2014, other appropriate legislation and the Langdon Community assessment process
• to work collaboratively with the Senior Social Worker in delivering Langdon’s aim to provide personalised services for adults in the community

• ideally you have previous experience of working with adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome
• you have an outgoing, positive, empathetic personality and a clear and straightforward communication style
• to collect, accurately record, manage information systems , critically analyse all relevant information and take appropriate actions to fulfil statutory responsibilities to promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of the Langdon members’

• A recognised qualification or equivalent is preferred for this position, however, we will consider candidates who have achieved NVQ3 and are studying towards a CQC recognised qualification
