Responsibility
- read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and welding requirements
- perform TIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
- select appropriate welding techniques and equipment based on project specifications
- prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, cutting, and fitting pipes according to the design requirements
- perform welding operations using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions, including overhead, vertical, and horizontal
- inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, making any necessary adjustments or repairs
- follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- collaborate with other team members, such as pipefitters and inspectors, to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
Requirements
- level 3 Trade Apprenticeship in Welding or Pipefitting
- proven experience as a pipe welder, preferably in an industrial or construction setting
- offer of employment is subject to passing a weld test to verify competence and quality standards
- PAYE
- ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
- strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds consistently
- basic rate - £24.66
- physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and environments, including confined spaces and at heights
