Requirements
- mechanical engineering background
- engineering apprenticeship
- HNC or equivalent qualifications
- at least 5 years’ working in a mechanical engineering environment
- knowledge of working with MRP/ERP Systems
- 3D CAD Systems
- an understanding and appreciation of Quality Systems
Responsibility
- liaising with colleagues, customers and suppliers regarding technical and design issues
- creation, development and management of technical drawings and models using a designated CAD package such as Solid Edge
- liaising with colleagues and providing assistance when generating parts lists and specifications
- liaising with all departments regarding new products, upgrading products, failures in service and cost reductions
- working within the parameters of PDM, Cute FTP as well as any software directed within the Knott Group
- managing the technical area and, as required, include the personnel aspects of the department and it’s staff
- ensuring the correct flow of any paperwork required to meet current Knott-Avonride Ltd procedures
- CAD design and development of products - taking into account materials, the economics of production, safety, legal requirements, quality and production requirements
