Responsibility
- lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other types of building blocks to construct walls, partitions, arches, and other structures
- interpret blueprints or work orders to determine the layout and materials required
- cut or shape bricks to fit around windows, doors, and other openings
- use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to set bricks
- utilise power tools for cutting and shaping bricks
- repair or replace damaged bricks or blocks
- work on various projects including building walls, chimneys, fireplaces, and other structures
- ensure structures are level and aligned correctly
Requirements
- proven experience as a Brick Mason
- proficient in bricklaying techniques and masonry work
- ability to use hand tools effectively
- knowledge of roof construction techniques
- welding skills are advantageous
- familiarity with different types of bricks and stones
- physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the job
