Responsibility
- provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting
- promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for residents
- establish positive relationships with residents and act as a positive role model
- implement individual care plans and support the educational, emotional, and physical development of each resident
- encourage and facilitate the participation of residents in various activities, both within the home and the wider community
- work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for residents
- maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress and report any concerns to the appropriate individuals
Requirements
- hold a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare
- previous experience working in a residential childcare setting is highly desirable
- strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and relevant legislation
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
- flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people
