Responsibility
- safely operate a van to transport goods or materials to and from the warehouse
- load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
- plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
- communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise
- kent Potato Supplies is a family run business with over twenty years experience in supplying potatoes to food outlets - restaurants, takeaway food shops, farm shops, pubs, and care homes etc throughout Kent
- the successful candidate will be an honest, self motivated, hard working individual, will need a full clean UK driving Licence to deliver on their own once or twice a week but will primarily be assisting a driver for the rest of the week to deliver around 6 to10 Tonnes of potatoes per day - helping to load and unload the vehicle and you will also be required to demonstrate excellent customer service at all times
- this is a very physical role so you must be able to perform manual handling as the job involves a lot of heavy lifting
- the hours of work are Monday to Friday 6:00am until finish, Job & knock hours, when you're done, you're done + Occasional Saturdays due to Covering Bank Holidays
Requirements
- previous experience as a van driver or in a similar role is preferred
- familiarity with local roads and traffic patterns
- ability to navigate using GPS or other navigation tools
- strong communication skills to interact with warehouse staff and customers
- physical fitness and ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
- delivery driver experience: 1 year
- driving: 1 year
