Responsibility
a. Overseeing the administration and support operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities
b. Line managing reception staff, supporting staff development, providing guidance and direction, ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory training
c. Identifying and delivering team training where required
the following are the core responsibilities of the Reception Manager. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels
k. Managing all deliveries to the practice, ensuring adherence to the cold chain policy as necessary
h. Coordinating the provision of temporary administrative and reception staff, ensuring sufficient cover is provided for periods of leave and other staff absences

Responsibility
to maintain the confidentiality of patient records at all times
to welcome patients upon arrival at the practice
to answer incoming calls to the practice
to arrange new/follow up appointments for patients, in accordance with the appointments system, and arrange home visits etc. as necessary
to answer general enquiries from patients re. the surgery
to undertake general clerical duties which will include photocopying, filing of patient records, opening and sorting incoming mail
confident use of computer systems
ensuring electronic communications are actioned and referred to clinicians as appropriately and promptly as possible
