Requirements

  • level 3 HGV City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent
  • HGV Class 2 Licence
  • previous experience as a qualified HGV Technician
  • preferably, the candidate needs to know knowledge about mechanical and electrical vehicle components and systems, however it is essential that you will get full training to help out

Responsibility

  • operate a range of computer systems and mechanical equipment in order to control road vehicles
  • drive a vehicle for which you have had the appropriate training and qualification
  • carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicle types
  • troubleshoot and maintain a fleet of vehicles
  • diagnosing all types of vehicle faults, using diagnostic equipment
  • diagnose faults on vehicles and make necessary repairs
  • MOT preparation
  • set up and operate a range of mechanical equipment
