experience in leading risk governance in real estate lending through full life cycle including problem loan resolution, restructuring, foreclosure and management of other real estate owned. Stature to create confidence during periods of distress
10+ years of experience in interacting on regulatory issues
bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in finance, accounting, mathematics/modelling or economics preferred with - 15+ years of progressive management level experience
Responsibility
advise and credibly challenge executive management on risk issues
oversee regular review and analysis of portfolio trends to detect deterioration in portfolio quality
final review of loan documentation for deals under execution to ensure consistency in quality across funds
oversee identification, monitoring, measuring, and mitigation of various risk categories: credit, operational, market, legal, and reputational
manage an ongoing focus on analytical processes and procedures to identify risks and opportunities in the origination stream and portfolio management
this includes the monitoring and control of the real estate lending and litigation portfolio by ensuring that all exposure is properly approved, reported and reviewed
ensure all litigation and real estate lending exposure complies with credit policies, procedures, standards, allowance for loan losses and required capital provisions
review and credit approve the largest underwritings and loan concentrations, with input on structure, terms, and pricing, with credit authority to approve highest risk, largest profile transactions
