- thorough knowledge of UK health and safety regulations, including the Construction Regulations
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification in Occupational Health and Safety
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- exceptional problem-solving abilities
- attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety
- ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- first Aid certification is a plus
Responsibility
- job Title: Health and Safety Officer
- safety Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities comply with current health and safety regulations, codes, and industry best practices
- site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and safety violations
- risk Assessment: Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to assess and mitigate risks associated with construction activities, equipment, and materials
- safety Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, near-miss reports, and safety-related documents. Prepare safety reports as required
- safety Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific health and safety plans, including emergency response procedures
- incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations for corrective actions to prevent recurrences
- safety Equipment: Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment is provided and used by all site personnel
