Responsibility

  • enable service users to self-manage their personal and domestic resources and to undertake activities of daily living
  • support service users in achieving independence in all areas of their life by providing appropriate information, opportunity, training, counselling and support
  • at JS supported living services we provide a Supported Living & Housing Service committed to improving the quality of life for those with mental health difficulties
  • encourage those living with mental illness to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect their mental well-being and physical health
  • our fully inclusive support services seek to equip people with the skills, confidence and capability to maintain an independent and healthy lifestyle, regardless of their background by helping them to reach stability and move towards an independent and positive lifestyle
  • assist service users with their medical and welfare needs whilst complying with all medicine policies, including storage, support and record keeping
  • everything we do is centered around each of our service users, as a growing service we are looking for people to join our team who have an understanding and appreciation for our dedication to improving the quality of life for individuals with mental health needs
  • assist in developing, implementing and reviewing support plans and other necessary paperwork

Requirements

  • excellent organisational and team working skills
  • A genuine desire to make a real difference in people’s lives
  • UK driving license & access to your own vehicle
  • the right to live and work in the UK
  • flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and Access
  • experience of providing support to people living with mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting, either paid or voluntary
  • you must have previous experience working with dementia or challenging behaviour patients
