Responsibility

  • prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and smoothing surfaces
  • apply paint to surfaces including walls, floors, doors, and cabinets
  • mix, match, and apply paint using various tools such as brushes, rollers, and sprayers
  • cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect them from paint
  • fill cracks and holes with appropriate materials such as plaster or putty
  • clean up work areas and remove hazardous material after completing the job

Requirements

  • proven experience as a painter
  • knowledge of painting tools and techniques
  • ability to read blueprints and follow instructions
  • attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination
  • physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform manual labor
  • ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • painting: 4 years
