Responsibility
- fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to specifications
- perform welding tasks using stick welding techniques and other methods as required
- utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to cut, shape, and join materials
- read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures
- collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship
- maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols
Requirements
- proven experience in ironworking or a related field is preferred
- strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
- proficiency in welding techniques, particularly stick welding, is essential
- familiarity with sheet metal work is advantageous
- basic maths skills for measurements and calculations are required
- ability to effectively use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment
