Responsibility

  • work with the Manager to oversee the day to day management, staffing, organisation and smooth running of the nursery
  • to contribute to the planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of the setting
  • to meet the Manager on a weekly basis and attend support and supervision meetings and annual appraisal
  • to undertake annual appraisals for staff in the setting
  • in the absence of the Nursery Manager, undertake necessary duties to ensure the competent delivery of childcare and education at the setting
  • to be responsible at all times for high standards of learning, education and care of children in the setting in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Social Care Standards– my support, my life, and those of the Care Inspectorate
  • to allocate childcare places in accordance with the nursery policies
  • to build good working relationships with other professionals, agencies and families
