Responsibility

  • collaborate with the DBA team to support, troubleshoot, and optimise SQL Server databases to ensure efficient and reliable performance
  • assist in database design, including creating and maintaining tables, indexes, and views to support application needs
  • perform maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
  • assist in monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending solutions to enhance overall system performance
  • assist in data migration and integration tasks, ensuring seamless and accurate data movement between different environments
  • collaborate with other team members to optimise queries and enhance database performance
  • implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data
  • contribute to documentation efforts for database design, configuration, and operational procedures

Requirements

  • hands-on experience with SQL Server Management Studio
  • bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • solid understanding of database architecture and design principles
  • knowledge of SQL Server database administration, backup, and recovery processes
  • exposure to performance tuning and optimisation techniques
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
