Responsibility

  • preparation and application of coatings using various techniques to agreed specifications and quality standards
  • inspection and use of equipment including compressors, blast pots, filters, hoses, pressure gauges etc., prior to use and at required intervals
  • preparation, cleaning and inspection of all plant, materials and equipment associated with daily tasks
  • stock management
  • general housekeeping and maintenance of a clean and safe working environment - in the workshop and on site
  • maintaining a clean and safe working environment, including safe disposal of waste materials and appropriate housekeeping
  • operation of high pressure blasting equipment for removal of coatings from surfaces such as steel and brick work
  • inspection of blasting operations to ensure compliance with agreed specification, Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements, keeping such records as required

Requirements

  • minimum of 2 years' experience in surface preparation and/or spray painting
  • valid CSR card
  • proven right to work in the UK
  • full driving licence with access to vehicle
  • ability to commute to site locations
  • access to mobile telephone
  • two references
  • willing and able to undertake training or retraining required for the post and to adapt to the introduction of new working practices
