laboratory technician
Responsibility
- co-ordinating receipt of goods against departmental inventories
- distributing goods to relevant departments and logging all deliveries
- removal of hazardous waste from laboratories daily
- accurately facilitate compound logistics and managing databases
- maintain laboratory stock levels of essential reagents and consumables
- bacterial culturing and preparation of bacterial growth media
- liaising with purchasing team and creating purchase orders for solvent and other chemical stocks
- co-ordinating equipment maintenance with external providers
Education
- A-Level or equivalent
Requirements
- some experience working in a laboratory is required for this role
- experience in microbiological aseptic technique is desirable but not essential
- A further science qualification e.g. A-level or BTEC in one or more sciences
- good interpersonal skills and teamwork
- good verbal and written communication skills
- computer literacy e.g. able to use MS office applications
- laboratory work: 1 year
