Responsibility
- assisting the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and ensuring the highest quality of food preparation
- overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food production, cooking, and food presentation
- managing and training the kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
- collaborating with the Head Chef to create new dishes and improve existing recipes
- monitoring food inventory and ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels
- ensuring that all kitchen equipment and utensils are in good working condition and properly maintained
- implementing and maintaining standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency in food quality
- assisting in the development and implementation of cost control measures to maximize profitability
Requirements
- proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant
- in-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine and a passion for creating authentic and flavorful dishes
- strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- attention to detail and a commitment to delivering food of the highest quality
- knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred, but not required
