I recently parted ways with a company under a
"mutual agreement," and I wanted to be transparent about the experience.
From the start, I was met with a difficult working environment. I experienced ongoing
unprofessional behaviour from the Director and his daughter, which created a toxic and unsupportive atmosphere. Despite this, I did my best to stay positive and focused.
Unfortunately, I wasn't given any formal training or onboarding, and the expectations of my role kept shifting without clarity or consistency.
Flexible working - which was originally offered — was later withdrawn without warning, adding further pressure and making it harder to balance the role effectively.
In the end, it became clear the environment wasn't the right fit. While it was a tough chapter, I've gained valuable insight into the kind of culture I want to be part of — one that values respect, clear communication, and trust.
