Responsibility
- operate washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment effectively and safely
- sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens and garments according to established procedures
- maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area, ensuring all equipment is in good working order
- maintain cleanliness and organisation of the residential home, ensuring all equipment is in good working order
- monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to management
- adhere to health and safety regulations while handling chemicals and operating machinery
- assist with the transportation of laundry items to various departments as required
- collaborate with care staff to ensure timely delivery of clean linens
Requirements
- previous experience in a laundry, cleaning or housekeeping role within a residential home setting is preferred but not essential
- strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- good physical stamina; must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary
- A positive attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional service
