Responsibility
- upholster industrial furniture pieces, including chairs, sofas, benches, and ottomans, using a variety of materials, fabrics, and tools
- measure, cut, and sew fabric or leather according to design specifications and patterns
- stretch and attach upholstery materials to furniture frames, ensuring a smooth and wrinkle-free finish
- install springs, padding, and cushions to provide comfort and support
- apply appropriate fasteners, such as buttons or decorative nails, to enhance the aesthetics of the furniture
- inspect and repair damaged or worn-out upholstery materials, including springs, padding, and fabrics
- collaborate with designers, upholsterers, and other team members to ensure the final product meets client expectations and design requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper storage and organization of upholstery materials, tools, and equipment
Requirements
- proven experience as an Industrial Furniture Upholster or similar role
- proficiency in upholstery techniques, including fabric cutting, sewing, and stretching
- in-depth knowledge of different types of upholstery materials, fabrics, and tools
- strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality craftsmanship
- excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- ability to read and interpret design specifications and patterns
- familiarity with industrial furniture construction and assembly
- good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
