relevant qualifications eg, plumbing or marine/mechanical engineering, preferred
A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and risk assessments
experience of carrying out basic plumbing eg, unblocking drains/gutters, fixing leaks and changing taps
able to carry out basic carpentry and joinery duties eg, replacing locks, handles and repairing furniture
friendly yet professional with a desire to offer excellent customer service to staff, clients and visitors
proactive able to use own initiative
flexible, can-do and solution based attitude
ensures high standards are maintained by own and others’ work
Responsibility
to work with Reception and Business Centre staff to ensure clients and staff are satisfied with their working environment
to provide feedback on existing contractors work/maintenance so that the Business Centre team can manage the relevant agreements appropriately
to carry out daily checks of the plant room and plumbing and conduct detailed scans of all company buildings, inside and out, diagnosing and rectifying or escalating issues in a timely manner, sourcing materials as required and where approved
to clean, restore, maintain Company buildings and surrounding areas in accordance with Health and
collect daily action lists from Reception every morning and work through in a timely manner and to a high standard, handing back an updated list at the end of each day and updating the relevant individuals on the status of their activities, providing timescales of when outstanding tasks will be completed to manage clients/staff expectations effectively
conduct weekly checks of the fire alarm and exits of each building and perform regular checks of emergency lighting, performing fire drills at least once per year at each site
escort and advise sub-contractors or building contractors when on site and oversee their activities during/after to ensure they are completed to a high standard, reporting any issues to the Business Centre team immediately
working with the Business Centre Manager and H&S Officer, on all health and safety matters, being responsible for ensuring all recommended/required remedial action arising from Fire Risk Assessments and other H&S audits are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard
