Daniel Standen - Director - for the past few months my company has been targeted and subjected by a number of individuals, (deleted by the administrator) of (deleted by the administrator)
All Go Work Reviews and other online & facebook posts that have been made against my companies are 'False and Slanderous' if any customer has genuine complaints you can always contact me directly or you can contact my (deleted by the administrator).
(deleted by the administrator), previously sent me a message saying (which we have kept and all messages have been sent to both Kent Police and our Solicitor) (deleted by the administrator), we only have you to thank for all of this. I feel like we've won the lottery as I never expected my wildest dreams it would turn out as good as this. We will forever be so grateful to you. Bottle of wine is already open. Hope you all have a lovely well deserved break. - this was messaged(deleted by the administrator) - I am happy to disclose all messages sent by (deleted by the administrator) made us wait 6 months to be paid for an interim invoice for over £20,000' they said they could only pay us £250 per week / £1,000 per month, we even offered (deleted by the administrator) a temporary job as a truck driver to pay off the debt sooner, and this was declined. We were also asked(deleted by the administrator) that we finish the build and then they can re-mortgage the house to pay us, but we were already £20,000 plus owing, No Contractor would carry on working after nearly 6 months not being paid.
Understandably we should of at that point stopped all works and Issued a 'Breach of Contract' however we carried on with the build but by the time the project was nearly finished (deleted by the administrator) for the value of 6K was not carried out by ourselves because we had enough, as they were still holding back money for the remaining landscaping works. (deleted by the administrator) has since then gone on a campaign to ruin my company and reputation, she has shown her true colours by the way she has dealt with this going on social media and work reviews campaign against my business, myself and even my wife and children have been subjected to abuse - even from people we have not even worked for, I have been to the police and my solicitor, who is currently taking steps to make Criminal & Civil Actions against (deleted by the administrator), (false names includes (deleted by the administrator)and many more....
Also (deleted by the administrator), which we were told they were both qualified electricians,(deleted by the administrator) fell out and (deleted by the administrator) who claimed was qualified and showed us false papers to say he was , however after completing projects back in 2025, we discovered he was not on the Electrical Competency Scheme and therefore was not qualified, he should not be working as an electrician we have reported him to NICEIC & NAPIT, Plus to Trading Standards, Local Councils etc, and we are preparing a Legal case against (deleted by the administrator)for works he has completed and been paid Interim Payments for, in October 2025 he was paid 5K on account subject to him issuing an Electrical Completion Certificate for works he had completed however our emails/phone calls were ignored and the certificates were never produced, our claims include Costs for Third Parties to rectify / sign off the works involving the local councils. (deleted by the administrator)now appears to be making false claims against my company myself and my children, this will be dealt with by Kent Police & my Solicitor.
For the Past few months I have been advised not to respond and fuel the situation, lines have now been crossed, false accusations of ordering a £12k kitchen and running off with money, is a lie - I have never taken money for a kitchen and not installed it, All Parties involved will now have the full weight of the legal system put against them and in light of further false allegation, defamation of character, threats against my family namely from (deleted by the administrator) , Kent Police will now escalate the two already Crime Report / Incident numbers for action to be taken.
My Solicitor and myself have a great deal of evidence from all these false claims against my company, myself and my family, the consequences of these actions are not only damaging to myself but also all my valuable and loyal tradesmen, these false name and untrue claims are not only hurting my company and myself, but you are also hurting my tradesmen, saying 'poor workmanship' etc - which I have never received a complaint regarding the workmanship - in fact (deleted by the administrator) not only praised our workman also asked for them to work for them directly, only one actually did which was (deleted by the administrator) which also demonstrates he has not integrity or loyalty to the contractor he is working for.
I think its disgusting (deleted by the administrator)and her horse using the name(deleted by the administrator) plus the text and voice mail messages of(deleted by the administrator) where they have their lessons. Obviously all the threats of violence to myself and my family directly has all been logged and reported to Kent Police,
We have been in business for nearly 11 years, with a turnover of £1.5m to £2m per annum, we work for many customers per annum and many loyal returning customers, completing stunning and amazing projects and finishes, but unfortunately you cannot please everyone, especially when customers do not pay / breach of contracts, we have to take action, but the modern world allows for people to make false claims and accusations about a company or someone, hide behind many false names to try and make the situation look a lot worse than it actually is, to destroy a company and its reputation, (deleted by the administrator)knows I have several text message from her, clearly stating that if I dont pay her money she will destroy me on Social Media and online. However, she had her day in court and all this abuse for 6K for two (deleted by the administrator) we did not complete when the overall build was 350K for a new build project. I wish we had never met (deleted by the administrator) and started the project, i dont think other contractors would be so easy going not being paid for 6 months and where we made our mistake was not putting them on notice when they breached the contract.
(deleted by the administrator) so called Electrician, you are only making these claims because we are taking action against you, you should not be carrying out electrical works when you are not registered and therefore not competent, you will be found and I will make sure action is taken against you, your physical threats against me, my business and now my family will be dealt with via Kent Police and my Solicitor, however I understand you have now moved property or are hiding away from the authorities tracking you down. We know you have form for (deleted by the administrator) against your former partner, who we know very well and your history of your drug taking habits and for these reasons alone I would recommend no person should ever engage (deleted by the administrator), Who plays the 'Mr Nice Guy/ but is not a very pleasant person at all.
This is all very embarrassing & distressing for myself, my family and my business, it is having a massive damaging affect to my business, but I will make sure all those involved listed persons using many false online names are dealt with legally and proper channels, without the trial by social media.
We have loyal customers & family that are standing by us and are willing to give references of our works, some have even advised us that (deleted by the administrator) have spoken to them and made contact with them but they have come to us absolutely disgusted by her Facebook and Go Works campaign.
(deleted by the administrator)has worked for me over the past 5 years, I am happy to give a reference for his works, we live in Harrietsham and (deleted by the administrator)made us aware of what has been going on for the last couple of months, I have no intention to engage with these people who are carrying out this witch hunt, I hope to see justice served on these individuals. I find it particularly disgusting that their children have been targeted.
As a responsible contractor it is your responsibility to ensure that contracted or subcontracted staff are appropriately qualified, this means actually checking NICIEC/NAPIT membership, rather than going by verbal assurance, so this is a major concern.
It is also concerning that you have taken to doxxing former clients and making accusations without the right of reply or proof that they are responsible for such a ‘campaign’.
I’m not sure if you thought this post was going to provide some form of assurance to potential customers, but it really makes you come across as quite capricious and, having considered you for some upcoming works, I am glad i have read your riposte as it has assured me that I would rather avoid your company.
I find it appalling that someone who 'runs' a business doesn't even understand the law in relation to GDPR! What else doesn't this (deleted by the administrator) understand!
I certainly wouldn't trust him to work for me!

That's exactly what happens. You're (deleted by the administrator) in case he doesn't come back, but on the other hand, when they blatantly charge you the same fee twice or even three times, you have to say something, then it's your card marked. (deleted by the administrator)
(deleted by the administrator)They will take your money and not complete the work. They have no principles and will invent more work to pay for as you go along. Also work that is done is of very poor quality. Find another builder this one will bleed you dry then walk away.

We are in dispute with this company for unfinished work which has been paid for. A County Court Judgment was (deleted by the administrator)has not paid a penny. Enforcement action is now beginning. Happy to share experiences as there are a few, and if this person is not co-operating, we need to do something about it. I'm still waiting for my money, he only needs to pay what he owes and his business might stand a chance of surviving, but until such time, whatever name he trades under, we will make people aware to be very careful.
This company is shameful and needs exposing to the wider south east area to stop them from (deleted by the administrator)anymore people. (deleted by the administrator) have been notified as have the police and this is just the start. There is hard evidence that this company are non compliant with the law and do not have an ounce of decency or respect for its customers. They will take all your money and leave you with nothing and the worse of it is that they simply do not give a damn! Be ware and be warned.

Shame about that. (deleted by the administrator) he reported me to the police weeks ago. I'm still waiting. I welcome any investigation from the police or any other authoritues in order to highlight this company for who they really are. We have a CCJ against him and another one was issued to him in December 2025. Yet he believes he's squeaky clean.
He could put a stop to all of this but chooses not to, so he will just have to deal with the backlash of this going public, across London and the entire South East.
I would not normally respond on this platform, however the continued publication of false and misleading reviews leaves me no choice but to correct the record. This response is posted solely to correct false statements. Defamatory content has been formally documented and addressed through the appropriate legal and platform-reporting channels.
The reviews posted under the usernames “Blue Peter” and “Conned by Homewood”, by Mrs Jan Ellis, contain serious allegations that I categorically deny. Homewood designed and built a stunning single-storey extension, installed a new kitchen, downstairs Shower Room and new patio at the Ellis property. All required planning permissions were obtained, the works were completed they have now been signed off, and the clients remain living comfortably in their home. Throughout the project, positive feedback was repeatedly given to our site team.
As with most construction projects, there were a small number of issues & minor snagging items, including:
Incorrect handles to roof lights which need to be changed
Cosmetic marks requiring an additional coat of paint to the kitchen ceiling - these would not be considered as 'Big Issues' and the claim that we have not been back to your property is untrue as we have had a team back at your property to attend to some of the snagging items. Although we will admit the works did run over but I do not believe it warrants the continuous negative reviews.
We have always confirmed in writing that these items and others would be rectified, along with repairing or replacing a garage door damaged by a third-party skip company.
At no point have Homewood or myself acted fraudulently, nor have we left the clients with “big issues” as claimed. These allegations are untrue and unsupported by evidence.
It should also be noted that a final account monies still remains outstanding owed to Homewood from these clients and has not yet been issued, pending completion of the agreed snagging items.
Unfortunately, the relationship has deteriorated following the continued posting of negative and misleading reviews, including the creation of dedicated pages targeting my business. This behaviour has made constructive communication extremely difficult.
I would like to also address other comments that have been made on this thread, I have been very unwell for the last 3 months and still receiving treatment, however after a pause in works we now have a small team back at work. The question of the workmanship and the trades which we have working for us over the years has never been an issue, all of Homewood Trades that work for me have worked for me for years and their workmanship is exceptional, I admit that we have made mistakes and 'dropped the ball',
If you do have any issues I would stress that I am unable to resolve these through this website I would ask for you to contact my office, where a dialogue can be opened and issues can be resolved.
The above response from Homewood Design and Build is all lies, fake and so far removed from the truth! They lie about absolutely everything and will tell you anything to get your money, then you wont see them for dust!

Unfortunately having this builder work for us has ended up costing us a fortune to rectify all the errors. Even when the manufacturers (of more than one item) wrote to tell us things had not been done correctly, or the wrong item had been fitted the (deleted by the administrator), would not accept he had got it wrong. You are not allowed to question his decisions.
So many disgruntled customers have had similar experiences (or worse) and been left with large bills and (deleted by the administrator). They have left reviews and opinions on this platform but unfortunately the Director is under the illusion they are all written by me! Which quite frankly we have had a good laugh at. However, if he wishes to believe that I am the only one of his customers on here, let him carry on under this assumption.
If you are even thinking about using Homewood Design & Build, I suggest you do a lot of research into this Company (which is now in liquidation) plus his new company (HDB Build & Restoration) (deleted by the administrator)
Do not engage with this man. Our work isn't finished either and he"s told us he has (deleted by the administrator)too. He's left us with hole in roof and unsafe building site I have fallen twice he's taken all our money on false promises. I have contacted the police.
I would love to see (deleted by the administrator) brought to justice over te way he has treated us and other customers and, it would appear, his staff.

We have had the same problems. Reading your comments is like reading the last year of our lives. Lie after lie, promises after promises with work left unfinished. We have more updates on what's happening through the trades than the man himself despite paying for the service. Happy to get in touch but not sure how?
We've suffered the same. No snagging done. Big mistakes not rectified.
What fools we were to be sucked in by the promises.

At no time during the works that were being carried out did we receive negative feedback from you?. Now that I am back at work I would like the opportunity to discuss the works with you and talk through the issues that you felt you had so we can learn from these.
BEWARE of (deleted by the administrator), or any of his companies... Homewood Design & Build Kent is an absolute (deleted by the administrator). No doubt his new company HDB Building & Restoration Ltd will be just as bad. He is a serial liar who it seems is happy to charge for work he hasn't done and will not do, and he totally overpromises and underdelivers. If he treats his employees as he does his customers then if you are looking for work, steer clear from working for him.
Shoddy practices and diisregard to safety or damaging neighbouring properties like mine. I ticked "customer" below but thankfully did not actually employ them. I am finally talking again to my neighbours who did employ them and I am shocked by the catalogue of disasters from their point of view too.
Do not be fooled by the (deleted by the administrator)website. A reverse image search shows most of the photos to be stock photos, or photos showing the work other (professional) companies. Looks great, but that's because it is NOT by Homewood Design and Build Kent!

Have had the same experience, can’t even begin to recount the constant lies, non existent management and poor workmanship, had to get a lawyer at one point but (deleted by the administrator). He actually pretended to have (deleted by the administrator)in order to delay our work, how low can you go! Do not go near them, all sounds good at first but it’s all lies.
Not a surprise he’s trading under another name, notice how Homewood aren’t listed on Google or anywhere apart from this review site, would like to hear from anyone else about their experience.

We have not carried out any work for your personally, if we had damaged your property I am sure we would of been extremely apologetic and made the repair immediately - if this was not the case you should contact my office immediately. We believe we know who you are making these claims and I am glad you are back talking with your neighbour (our client), if you are back on talking terms you will know that there has been a resolution. I do not believe it warrants running down our website or our service when you have never been a customer.

Don't be fooled by all the waffle and promises made at the beginning. The chances are your job won't get finished. You will be told men will be with you and they do not appear. The trades are good but management is dreadful.
Your budget will go way over. You will be persuaded to have stuff you didn't really want.

DO NOT engage with this company! Has anyone taken them to court or interested in a joint court case. Our project started 3 years ago. They've taken a lot of our money to pay for the goods but refused to proof these materials or purchase ever existed
So many promises! Should have been finished around 25 weeks here we are at nearly a year and the snagging is still not done. You get told men will be with you then it's only one or none! We asked for a final bill back in June, still waiting! (deleted by the administrator)

We're having problems with Homewood. Full of promises but job not completed over a year later
We have had several projects carried out by Homewood for over a period of 5 years, I have found their work to be excellent and all the trades that work for them knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I have left this review because I know that each and every aspect of works that have been carried out by Homewood I was given I received very detailed specification and quotation and No additional works were carried out unless written authorisation was given.
I don't normally write reviews but the very last project we had completed not only was very well executed the design which was carried out by them was exceptional and considerate.

Was this definitely Homewood Design and Build as there are a couple of companies called 'Homewood '.
No previous customer i have spoken to has had their work completed on time, or without excessive additional costs.....

BE VERY CAREFUL when working to a budget. You will be bled dry. Work left unfinished and do not care about you. They take all your money and don't come back.

Absolute disgrace of a company. No customer service and works unfinished. Budget spiralled out of control due to poor management and general waffle about costs.

Exactly the same for us. Would never recommend this Company. At the beginning they are so promising and professional but as the work progresses the cracks appear. Excuses, excuses, no shows, lies!
