Responsibility

  • manufacture tooling and components to a high level
  • apply sealants and release agents
  • prepare Patterns and Moulds ready for manufacture
  • lay-up Carbon fibre material as per instructions provided
  • vacuum bag for oven cure, including bag checks to ensure no leaks
  • load/unload oven
  • structural bonding of composite and metallic materials
  • use of film adhesives, foams and honeycomb, both aluminium and Nomex

Requirements

  • interpret drawings
  • ability to create templates from instructions provided
  • use of measuring equipment
  • laminate to a high level
  • create vacuum using various consumables
  • removal of cured components from tools
  • pattern shuttering and preparation
  • understand perimeter and envelope bagging
