Responsibility
- to deal with patient enquires, book appointments and be the first point of contact with Patients
- to sign for deliveries, post, and prescription collections
- opening up/locking-up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols

- to maintain accurate patient record systems, both manual and computerized including movement of records and filing of all correspondence
- patient notes and correspondence are retrieved and re-filed as required ensuring reports and results are dealt with promptly

- action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours
- processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
- to work with other outside organisations and communicate effectively with the teams to ensure high quality care for patients
- to share responsibility for the administration associated with reception including opening post and distributing appropriately
- processing new patient registrations and online access requests
- to process incoming and outgoing telephone calls, ensuring that callers are answered courteously, promptly and clearly and that accurate messages are always passed on to the appropriate person
- monitoring and actioning workflow tasks on both the clinical and the document management system
- receive requests for home visits, prescriptions and other patient requirements ensuring accurate recording of relevant details and where necessary refer to the ‘On-Call Doctor’
- preparing patient records for transfer to health authority
- monitoring of stationery and other supplies informed managment of re-ordering requirements
- alert other team members to issues of quality and risk
- receiving, recording and summarising patient records on receipt from health authority
- attending practice meetings
- to provide cover for absent colleagues and to work flexibly according to the needs of the Practice
- any other duties, appropriate to the post, as required by the Practice Manager or the Partners
- care navigating patients to the most appropriate clinician or service to assist with their health concern
- read coding information on patients records
- initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- scanning clinical information on to the practice computer system
- participate in audit where appropriate
