henleaze Lake is a special place, a flooded former quarry, flanked by grassy areas, trees and planting, rich in biodiversity
based at Henleaze Lake in North Bristol, Henleaze Swimming Club is a charitable company limited by guarantee, whose charitable objects are to promote the health and wellbeing of the inhabitants of Bristol and the surrounding areas by providing facilities for open water swimming, and other facilities in the interests of social welfare
it is open year round to more than 6,000 members and community access users, and we are constantly seeking to find ways to increase diversity and inclusion within the Club, and to promote wider usage to bring the benefits of the lake and its surroundings to people who would benefit from it
we are seeking a Deputy General Manager with excellent organisational and communication skills to work with and support the General Manager in all operational aspects of running Henleaze Swimming Club
the job requires flexible working – including the opportunity for hybrid working - which can accommodate both the needs of the lake and that of the management team - hours are agreed in advance depending on current type of work and workload
there is a requirement to live in or within easy travelling distance of Bristol, as regular attendance is required at the Lake including an element of on call cover should an unforeseen incident occur
