Responsibility
draws on technical knowledge and experience to independently develop the most effective solutions for less routine engineering problems
takes on role of Project Manager for smaller or routine projects, leading project meetings and managing client interactions
coordinates the daily activities of a project team including allocating and signing off technical work and providing feedback on performance
coordinates activities with peers and team members to meet deadlines and achieve set targets in the most effective and efficient way
develops and mentors less experienced team members, including playing an active role in enabling team members to attain chartership
ensures junior team members are adhering to delivery standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own industry
responsible for leading design projects or project steps within a larger design programme, proactively raising issues that may affect completion of projects in a timely manner
provides recommendations on resourcing requirements for specific projects to more senior team members
Requirements
attained Chartered status or equivalent
qualification / Degree in relevant discipline
application of Engineering principles
design Development
experience of managing small projects beneficial
supervising, mentoring or developing less experienced engineers
strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
knowledge of some or all of the following; Process plant, Rotating Equipment, Pumping Systems, Steam Systems, Clean and waste water systems , Detailed pipework design, Pipework stress analysis
