Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, or related field
- previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter is essential
- strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of various mechanical systems and components
- hands-on experience with mechanical installations, maintenance, and fault finding
- ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- full UK driving licence
- willingness to travel
- problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
Responsibility
- build special purpose machinery and Jigs and Fixtures to provided drawings
- installation of mechanical equipment such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, Special Purpose Machines, Jigs and Fixtures
- works can be varied from precision engineering to large scale equipment with fabrication tolerances
- knowledge of pneumatic systems and capability to assemble, test and fault find pneumatic systems
- operation of a Nikon Theodolite for measuring/setting jigs and fixtures
- able to assemble equipment ranging from tight tolerance components up to large scale automation machines
- adhere to all Health and Safety requirements and rules on Site and on customers site
- fault finding on mechanical equipment, Identifying the root causes of mechanical malfunctions, whether they occur unexpectedly or as part of planned maintenance and devising/carrying out effective solutions
