Requirements
- A minimum of four years of progressively responsible administrative, finance, operations, project management or related experience
- grant administration experience, including demonstrated expertise in managing complex, multi-year grants with multiple reporting and compliance requirements
- reporting experience with foundations and private donors
- experience with financial management and budgeting, particularly in the context of grant-funded projects
- financial monitoring, budgeting, and forecasting experience in a nonprofit environment
- experience of effective and values-based partnership work between international and local organizations and communities
- highly organized, analytical and proactive
- strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while delivering high-quality work
Responsibility
- ensure excellent financial stewardship of grants and compliance with internal and external policies and requirements
- serve as point person for project and department leads in helping manage their budgets
- provide strategic analysis and input on potential budget changes and support with formal budget modifications and no-cost extension requests
- work with program leads, fundraising, and finance team members throughout the life of grant including developing budgets, ensuring a smooth transition upon grant inception, financial tracking, and variance analysis
- work with the central finance team to ensure up-to-date grant information is reflected in budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
- prepare and submit financial and narrative reporting in accordance with funders' requirements, collaborating with project leads, partners, and finance team as needed
- support the operations team as needed including providing updates on sub-granting, contracts, payments, invoices and audits
- lead regular calls with project teams to review grant spending/forecast against budget, discuss milestones and deliverables timeline, and elevate any issues in a timely manner
